4 Seas 1 Horizon

In this project, we explore the illusion of the horizon — the line where sky and sea seem to meet. We created four video works filmed in the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean.

Using large-scale mirrors placed in the landscape, we generated artificial horizons that simulate sunsets in places where the sun doesn’t actually set into the water. Each work was shaped by the unique physical conditions of its location and involved precise, hands-on experimentation.

Together, the four videos form an immersive spatial loop that surrounds the viewer and blurs the line between natural phenomena and constructed illusion.
